The Confident Woman Africa (TCW Africa) is a youth-led, women-focused nonprofit organization dedicated to the holistic development of girls and women through educational support, skills training, and structured mentorship.
TCW Africa’s vision is to groom 360° balanced women across Africa, confident, resilient, and empowered to initiate and support innovations that transform their communities and the world.
Her mission is pursued through:
- Structured mentorship across six key life areas: Identity, Character, Health, Career, Relationships, and Financial Independence
- Educational support and skill training, including scholarships and tailored capacity-building programs
- Community and policy engagement aimed at addressing systemic and cultural barriers limiting women’s growth
“Thriving in Mind, Money, and Meaning,” held in Abuja
The Confident Woman Conference 2025, themed “Thriving in Mind, Money, and Meaning,” was held in Abuja and convened women and young girls from diverse backgrounds for learning, reflection, and connection.
The conference recorded:
- 84 women and young girls in attendance
- Engaging panel discussions and practical workshops
- Networking and community-building sessions
- The official launch of TCW’s Virtual Mentorship Program
- The launch of a self-help book for girls and women of all ages titled “Confessions of The Confident Woman”
Partnerships and Collaborations
The success of the conference was strengthened by collaborations with both local and international organizations, including: Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Zenith Bank, YALI Network Abuja, United People Global (UPG), Planet First Press and many other supporting partners.
Launch of the TCW Virtual Mentorship Program
Flowing directly from the conference, TCW Africa launched a 10-week Virtual Wholistic Mentorship Program designed to support young women aged 18–30. The program ran for 10 weeks and featured 14 sessions, including 12 core sessions focused on building the holistic woman. Delivery was led by 13 mentors drawn from diverse professional and leadership backgrounds.
The mentorship curriculum was structured around six key pillars:
- Self-Identity and Confidence Building
- Spirituality and Purpose
- Physical and Mental Health
- Business and Career Growth
- Financial Literacy
- Relationship Building
This approach ensured participants experienced balanced growth across personal, professional, and relational areas.
Participation and outcomes
Over 60 women applied to participate in the mentorship program and 25 mentees successfully completed and graduated. The Graduates demonstrated improved confidence, clarity, purpose, and leadership capacity.
Reflecting on the vision behind the mentorship program, Patience Ukange, Founder, TCW Africa, said: “The vision of the mentorship program is to build a holistic woman—one who intentionally builds her life and purpose, not to compete with or resist men, but because she understands that she has agency and a vital contribution to make to human development. Seeing the first cohort complete the program successfully is a deep source of joy, and I look forward to many more cohorts to come.”
Voices from Mentors and Program Leadership
Mentors and program leaders also reflected on the impact of the initiative. “An Igbo proverb says the one who asks questions never gets missing. TCW Mentorship Program provided a platform for young ladies to ask questions and glean from those who have paved the way, said Chijioke Ogbogu, Mentor.

Mentee Experience
Participants described the mentorship as transformative and affirming.
The program has helped me look at my life more intentionally; my finances, faith, mental health, and relationships. I feel different psychologically; like I’ve moved from one point to another. I’ve gained clarity, confidence, and better balance on who I am and how I want to show up in life. I’m truly grateful for the growth and support this space provided,” said Rhema Egahi Agbaji, Mentee cohort 1.
“The Confident Woman mentorship sessions have blessed me and reshaped my mind in areas from relationships to health to finance. I feel like a better and more balanced woman and am grateful for the opportunity,” observed Vera Nebo Ifeoma, Mentee cohort 1.

TCW Africa’s Broader Impact
Beyond the conference and mentorship program, TCW Africa has:
- Empowered 600+ women and teenage girls across 7 communities in Nigeria through skills training
- Directly mentored 3,500+ young women across 5 African countries
- Supported 5 girls in securing access to tertiary education
- Facilitated community dialogues across 3 Nigerian communities
Looking Ahead
TCW Africa continues to expand its work through:
- Ongoing training for women and girls from displaced communities
- Undergraduate scholarship opportunities for girls from underserved communities (two partnerships secured)
- School and community outreach programs.

About Patience Ukange, Founder, TCW Africa
Patience Ukange is a Self-Maximization Coach, Peace Advocate, Gender and Human Rights Officer and Sustainability Leader from Nigeria. She is committed to advancing girl-child development and climate sustainability, with over five years of experience leading impactful initiatives across Africa.
