VOICES FROM THE GLOBAL SOUTH ON FOOD, CLIMATE AND CULTURE
POWERED BY OVER 100 CONTRIBUTING WRITERS

Our Contributors

The Fourth Plate is powered by a diverse community of over 100 contributors spanning Asia, Africa, Latin America, Americas and the Middle East - a group of researchers, farmers, academics, journalists and independent thinkers.

Our contributors are practitioners, educators and innovators who bring first-hand experience from fields, labs, and classrooms. Their perspectives transform data into meaning and research into relevance. Together, they create an ecosystem of knowledge that bridges the local and the global.

We feature climate scientists writing alongside organic farmers, policy analysts debating with community activists, and chefs reflecting on culinary heritage in the context of sustainability. Many of our contributors are part of academic networks and rural cooperatives, ensuring that every story we tell reflects authenticity, empathy, and expertise.
We actively seek voices from the Global South — storytellers grounded in lived experience, unafraid to question and keen to connect. Whether through essays, multimedia reports or visual storytelling, our contributors share a common purpose: to illuminate the transformation of food and farming in real time.

Each byline on The Fourth Plate represents a commitment to credible, evidence-based journalism that values curiosity over clickbait and collaboration over competition.
